In this online article I found from Academic Search Premier, it explores various professional athletes and their annual income. It is directed towards anyone interested in sports and athletesââ¬â¢ incomes. I would give this source credibility because Trent Frayne was a legendary sports writer whose career stretched over 60 years. In ââ¬Å"The Ultimate Goal: The Almighty Buckâ⬠Frayne writes about different athletes ranging from the MLB player Ruben Sierra to NHL player Kevin Lowe and their different annual salaries. He writes aboutâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦It is written by Peter King, who is not only a column writer but has written five books all having to do with professional sports. This article is about specific sports teams, like the Tampa Bay Rays, and the way they pay their players. Specifically King writes about free agents. He also explains the process in deciding why each player gets the specific salaries they do and what the money is for. In doing so, King states, ââ¬Å"So why do teams keep throwing away their money? For one thing, the dearth of trades means that other than the draft, the free-agent market is virtually the only way to acquire major talent.â⬠(King). King is talking about how the reason why the free-agent market is still in use is because it seems to be the only way to get good players. I can put this article to good use in my paper because it allows me to see why certain players get the amount of money they do when compared to other players. Unlike other articles, it also talks about the free-agent market and explains why it is in use and how it works. Mueller, Chris. Two Sides To Every Story. Are Professional Athletes Overpaid?
