One of the Microorganisms That Responsible For a Hospital
Question: Explain One of the Microorganisms That Responsible For a Hospital? Answer: Introducaation: One of the microorganisms that is responsible for an hospital relate d infection is a bacteria known as Staphylococcus aureus which is responsible for a host of diseases ranging from minor skin infections to potentially fatal diseases that includes pneumonia, sepsis, osteomyelitis and toxic shock syndrome (PHA, nd). This particular microorganism can get transmitted mainly through direct control and hence in order to prevent transmission, following isolation enabling strategies need to be implemented (CDAC, nd). Direct contact transmission is very common in this microorganism and hence the healthcare workers are advised to use an ethanol based topical sanitizer so as to prevent the infection from being transmitted from one patient to other. Additionally, it is imperative that the medical staff while treating such a patient or coming in contact should wear gloves and gowns. Further, it is also recommended that before entry and exit from the room of such a patient, donning of PPE or Personal Protective Equipment must be carried out. Preferably for the safety of fellow patients, single room is preferred but if the same is not feasible, a 3 feet spatial separation is recommended. The various patient care devices need to be cleaned and disinfected before being used on another patient. This is also applicable for the various clothes, bed sheets etc which come in contact with the infected patient. It is imperative to physically isolate the concerned patient from other healthy patients as in the initial stages transmission can occur if droplet precautions are not observed.
